Daily legal work

Tasks and deadlines

Delegate legal work, manage review paths, and see individual and team obligations in one hub

Tasks & deadlines combines execution and calendar responsibility. It covers tasks, subtasks, court dates, review requests, approvals, obligations, issues, milestones, and intake work across matters.

Views for different questions#

  • My work answers what you personally need to do next.
  • Team work shows assignment, capacity, availability, and delegation across permitted colleagues.
  • Calendar shows fixed and calculated legal dates alongside reminders.
  • Milestones groups dependent work around filings, closings, hearings, renewals, and other outcomes.
  • Board, backlog, list, timeline, sprint, workload, and portfolio views support operational planning when needed.

Work item details#

Each item can include assignees, reporter, collaborators, watchers, labels, priority, estimates, dependencies, due dates, recurrence, checklists, attachments, comments, mentions, and activity. Workflow transitions can require fields or approvals before the item moves.

Delegation and review#

Assignment establishes who owns the next action. Collaboration identifies people contributing to it. Watchers receive permitted updates without becoming owners. Dependencies make sequencing visible, while review and approval items preserve legal sign-off as a deliberate step.

Hand off to 8rney#

Use Ambient agents when the work item needs background execution. 8rney can research, read files, draft artifacts, use approved tools, ask for approvals, and report back while the task remains visible in the workspace.

Agent Tasks are useful for:

  • Preparing a morning case brief report
  • Summarising a long matter thread
  • Reviewing a document set
  • Drafting a client update
  • Creating follow-up tasks from Slack, Teams, Gmail, or Outlook
  • Running a scheduled legal operations report

Automation with control#

Organisation administrators can define triggers, conditions, and actions for repeatable work. Automations use idempotency, retry handling, escalation, and loop protection. AI may extract possible assignments and deadlines from documents, emails, notes, or research, but a user confirms them before creation.

Info

Drag-and-drop updates use optimistic concurrency. If another person changes the same item first, the server reconciles the board and shows the authoritative result.
