Legal calendar and rule packs

Track fixed and calculated dates, reminders, dependencies, and jurisdiction-specific procedural rules

The legal calendar brings task deadlines, court dates, transaction milestones, reminders, and calculated procedural dates into one permitted workspace view.

What you can do#

  • Add a fixed date to a matter or work item.
  • Create reminders for individuals or permitted teams.
  • Connect dependent dates so a change to the source event can recalculate the chain.
  • Apply holiday calendars and jurisdiction-specific business-day handling.
  • View dates in My work, Team work, the matter, or the workspace calendar.
  • Sync supported calendars while retaining the workspace as the source of legal context.

Rule packs#

A rule pack is a maintained set of procedural deadline rules for a court, tribunal, regulator, or workflow. It translates a triggering event—such as service, filing, or a hearing order—into proposed dates and explains the calculation inputs.

Enabling India court procedure, for example, makes its available procedural rules selectable when you calculate dates for an Indian litigation matter. It does not silently add dates to every matter. A lawyer selects the trigger and applicable rule, reviews the proposed dates and assumptions, then confirms what should enter the calendar.

Where configuration lives#

Daily calendar controls remain focused on dates and work. Authorised administrators configure rule packs, organisation defaults, approval requirements, and deadline policies in Manage → Workflows & deadline rules.

Note

Rule packs assist with calculation; they do not determine which rule legally applies. Check the current court rules, the order in the matter, and any jurisdiction-specific exception before relying on a date.
